Where will I be based as a Dietitian?
You will be based across three hospital sites: the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton, The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, and various community services in the Redcar and Cleveland locality and the Hambleton & Richmond community locality.
What specialities will I gain experience in?
You will gain experience in a broad range of specialities including stroke, surgery, neurology, cardiology, general and respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, older people's medicine, spinal injuries, and various community-based specialties such as nutritional support, diabetes, enteral feeding, and paediatrics.
Will there be opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD)?
Yes, there will be opportunities for continuing professional development throughout your time in the role.
Is there support and supervision available for new Dietitians?
Yes, you will receive supervision and support from experienced Dietitians to help develop your skills, as well as undertake a one-year preceptorship programme.
Will I be involved in educating other health care professionals?
Yes, you will be regularly involved in the education of other health care professionals, care home staff, and support workers.
Is travel required for this position?
Yes, due to the nature of some rotations, you will need to be able to travel across the South Tees and Hambleton and Richmondshire localities.
Is hospital accommodation available?
Yes, hospital accommodation is available on the James Cook University Hospital site in Middlesbrough, if required.
