Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily operations to include the efficient use of personnel, fiscal responsibilities, and safety of activities; continuously evaluates programs and services.
  • Supervises the After School Coordinator.
  • Oversight for all programming for the Community Center
  • Facility Use Agreements - manages rentals and usage of building; coordinates activities with community groups and organizations, coordinating HQ approvals.
  • Health and Wellness: Programming is focused on building a healthy livable community in Savannah for all ages; responsible for maintaining mutually beneficial partnerships with community organizations,
  • Community Recreation: Develops and delivers general recreational programming to the community in the form of age specific and family events, which include educational, entertainment, and wellness based programs, and special events.
  • Summer Camp/ After School Programs: Oversees all education programming for youth; is responsible specifically for after school and summer camp programs for Community Recreation.
  • Athletics: Oversees athletic programs. Develops programs; prepares budget plans; schedules programs; orders programming equipment; and manages registration, volunteer recruitments, and trainings.
  • Outdoor: Manages all levels of outdoor programs, outdoor special events, and camps; coordinates activities and projects affiliated with outdoor user groups; and facilitates the development of assigned projects.
  • Special Events: Oversees special events for the city. Assists with security staffing and volunteers, seeks sponsorships for events, works with community groups and agencies to plan events, assists with website to promote events, and works with boards and co-sponsored groups.
  • Senior: Programs specifically for adults ages 55 and over, develops programs and activities.
  • Oversees all facilities management (Family Stores, Warehouse, Center of Hope, and Community Center)
  • Oversight of inspection, repairs, testing of all machinery, heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems. Coordinates scheduling for all repairs. continuously evaluates services.
  • Serves as supervisor to all Maintenance and Custodial staff.
  • Oversees planning, monitors, and evaluates overall operations of Family Stores and Warehouses ensuring compliance with established policies; continuously evaluates programs and services.
  • Serves as supervisor to the Family Store Manager and Warehouse Supervisor
  • inspects work in progress and upon completion for accuracy and completeness; conducts performance evaluations of subordinate personnel and makes hiring/firing recommendations.
  • Overses the Warehouse Manager regarding CSRC Beneficiary oversight. And the receiving, sorting, pricing, and distribution of donated items in the warehouse.
  • Works closely with his direct reports to bring common unity and purpose to departments within the Savannah Corps.
  • Strategic Planning for future projects and ways to improve the mission of The Salvation Army- Savannah Corps.
  • Assists division/department with special events across all areas.
  • Performs additional duties to support operational requirements as assigned.
