Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive SHEQ strategy aligned with our business goals and growth trajectory. Influence and guide the Board of Directors and senior management on SHEQ matters and represent the business externally as a brand ambassador.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the execution of SHEQ policies, procedures, and culture programs across the business to ensure the integrated management systems (IMS) are effective on all projects and locations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations with a continuous improvement approach being adopted.
  • Culture and Engagement: Oversee the OCU SHEQ culture maturity program, collaborating closely with functional stakeholders to develop, implement and measure effectiveness aligned to the organisational values to create an empowered, engaged workforce. Lead the safety maturity strategy for the organisation.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Identify and implement innovative practices and technologies to enhance SHEQ performance. Lead initiatives that drive operational efficiency and risk mitigation. Be a key stakeholder and expert to support the OCU ONE digital platform design for SHEQ to enable real time leading and lagging analytics to enable the business to take effective decisions to reduce and mitigate risk.
  • Performance Management: Set ambitious SHEQ performance targets, monitor progress, and ensure accurate reporting. Utilise data-driven insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Vision: A forward-thinking leader with the ability to anticipate future challenges and opportunities, translating them into actionable strategies. Experienced brand ambassador externally utilising SHEQ as a value-add leverage for growth in new emerging and current markets.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of SHEQ governance and enhance our industry reputation.
