What is the main responsibility of the Estates Officer?
The main responsibility of the Estates Officer is to support and assist the Estates Manager in delivering an efficient and effective high-quality Operational Estates service across the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary site and other Trust sites as required.
Will the Estates Officer be required to manage contracts?
Yes, the Estates Officer will manage and supervise maintenance contracts as well as directly employed labour, ensuring that servicing, testing, validation, verification, maintenance, and repair of buildings and engineering systems are carried out in line with Trust procedures.
Is the Estates Officer expected to work at multiple sites?
Yes, the Estates Officer will undertake their role at their appointed WWL base site and may also be required to work at other WWL sites as needed.
Who will the Estates Officer work closely with?
The Estates Officer will work in close liaison with Estates Manager(s) and fellow Estates Officers.
What kind of activities will the Estates Officer organize and supervise?
The Estates Officer will organize, supervise, and coordinate repair, maintenance, and minor works activities undertaken by the directly employed labour workforce and external contractors, as well as Trust service providers.
Will the Estates Officer be involved in auditing and surveys?
Yes, the Estates Officer will be responsible for undertaking audits and condition surveys of the Estates built environment and associated engineering services, and producing report documents based on the findings of those activities.
