Responsibilities

  • Support international on-campus and off-campus Texas Global delegation visits:
  • Coordinate, in consultation with Texas Global leadership and stakeholders across UT-Austin, a significant number of international visiting delegations to campus;
  • Ensure that all members of international visitor delegations meet with appropriate counterparts on campus; identify faculty/staff for delegation meetings; develop itinerary and prepare all collateral materials required for visits;
  • Conduct preliminary research, as necessary, and create briefs for UT delegation hosts;
  • Meet with visiting delegations and participating faculty/staff, as necessary; compile and synthesize feedback of discussions; debrief and present feedback and data of visiting delegations’ meetings to OGES leadership team to ensure a follow-up action plan is implemented and potential partners can be properly cultivated;
  • Evaluate institutions for potential linkages with UT-Austin via targeted travel accompanying Texas Global and UT delegations abroad.
  • Mapping Internationalization:
  • Collect data to illustrate global engagement on campus and abroad. Areas to be mapped include faculty research/creative activity, student/faculty mobility, on-campus global programs, international partnerships, alumni, and other areas of importance for mapping;
  • Serve as key member of committees to advance development and implementation of institutional strategies.
  • International Partnerships:
  • Collaborate with units across campus to determine current landscape of Memoranda of Understanding, contracts, etc. with international partners. Determine level of activity and create mechanisms for oversight of agreements;
  • Gather and provide supporting data to leadership for the review of existing and developing exchanges and visiting student and scholar programs and activities;
  • Facilitate the review and approval of international collaboration agreements;
  • Represent the OGES and participate in meetings across campus to ensure a wholistic approach to partnership engagement.
