Responsibilities

  • Lead on the clinical effectiveness and patient safety agenda.
  • Implement PSIRF and the integrated management system (IMS) for standardisation, oversight, and assurance.
  • Be involved with the patient experience and health and safety agendas to ensure a governance framework to enable high quality and safe care where excellence and innovation can flourish.
  • Provide comprehensive support to investigators in undertaking incident investigations ensuring the incident management policy is fit for purpose and followed.
  • Analyse and report on incident data to a range of internal and external stakeholders on a regular and scheduled basis.
  • Identify the implications of regulations, policies and strategies on current practice highlighting any changes required.
  • Assist in ensuring the statutory requirements of the CQC are met and that the hospital is compliant with all Bupa policies and standards.
  • Proactively drive audit and quality assurance programmes.
  • Make recommendations for service improvements which add value by evaluating inputs for a range of sources, balancing, and prioritising competing interests and identifying how improvements can be sustainably taken forward and implemented.
