What kind of support will I receive as a graduate veterinary surgeon?
You will be supported from day one by a dedicated Vet GDP Advisor, as well as the graduate and clinical teams, and have access to over 1,300 vets within our clinical community online.
Will I need to work out of hours (OOH)?
No, you won’t need to do any out-of-hours work, and the practice is closed on Sundays and bank holidays.
What does the initial training period look like?
Initially, you will shadow an experienced vet and become familiar with the day-to-day running of the practice. You will start seeing your own patients when you feel confident, with extra time allowed for initial appointments.
Are there opportunities for continued professional development (CPD)?
Yes, you will have approximately 10 paid CPD days per year and can take paid leave to attend tailored CPD events covering various topics.
What is the duration of the Graduate Development Programme?
The Graduate Development Programme lasts for 2 years, with no financial or contractual tie-ins.
What is the starting salary for this position?
The starting salary is £36,000, with reviews after each year on the programme.
