Responsibilities

  • - Set the strategic direction and oversee the top priority regulatory and strategic policy support for the business units in their engagement with Ofgem and the Government.
  • - Engage regularly with senior commercial colleagues across the Centrica Group to understand their regulatory risks and opportunities.
  • - Give tactical and strategic advice to commercial colleagues, including on risk.
  • - Engage with Ofgem and Government officials directly, at a senior level, as well as other industry stakeholders.
  • - Support and lead your team in developing compelling solutions to a number of regulatory and public policy challenges including:
  • - Retail market regulation, such as the methodology used to set the retail price cap and financial resilience of suppliers.
  • - Wholesale electricity market regulation, such as grid connections reform and the UK Government’s Review of Electricity Market Arrangements (REMA).
  • - Policies to incentivise residential and business customers to decarbonise their operations, such as grants and market revenue opportunities for low carbon technologies.
