Responsibilities

  • Onboarding and Offboarding
  • Oversee and continuously improve onboarding and offboarding process of all staff, temporary employees, student temps, contractors and Year-Up interns. Collect required paperwork and process and provide outreach and troubleshoot any related issues with FAS HR, Talent Acquisition, Central, Harvard College Payroll, and FAS Payroll. Coordinate with hiring managers, Facilities, and Administrative IT to ensure all needs are met for onboarding and offboarding.
  • Compliance
  • Keep current on federal, state, and university policy changes; implement approved procedures to minimize risk. Act as internal resource for departmental staff regarding HR-related policies and practices; coordinate with FAS Human Resources, FAS and central Payroll, Harvard Benefits Office, and other departments.
  • Partners with the HR Director and Sr. HR Consultant on supporting the needs of tutors, proctors, house aides and resident assistants across the College. Keeps abreast of the current policies and procedures that apply to these populations.
  • Administration and Reporting
  • Responsible for all administrative and logistical tasks and a point of contact for receiving, managing, and responding to all human resources requests College-wide, little to no oversight. Triage with multiple stakeholders on priorities of certain requests.
  • Uses multiple HRIS to process a range of administrative actions from hiring staff and temporary employees, to job data changes, and terminations. Maintain staffing database and keep track of any term appointments or temporary employee end dates. Administrative responsibilities such as letter creation and distribution, personnel file management, org chart management.
  • Create and maintain tracking reports and create reports from different databases. Assist in designing a system for updating and reporting progress.
  • Other duties as needed.
  • Recruitment support
  • Manage the hiring process for temporary and part-time staff roles.
  • Payroll
  • Assists with any administrative payroll tasks such as reviewing/approving entered time and absences, answer questions about payroll to staff.
