Responsibilities

  • Using robotic liquid handlers, you will perform assays to determine the kinetic solubility, metabolic stability and permeability of novel compounds designed to treat a range of medical conditions. This data is used to select the compounds with the best chance of meeting all the criteria to become a new drug. Attention to detail, accuracy and precision are key.
  • You will be using mass spectrometers to detect each compound. Full training will be given in every step of the process, from developing and optimising the detection methods, to sample and data processing.
  • As your confidence in using and understanding the instruments grows you will also perform routine instrument validation and maintenance duties.
  • You will maintain a safe working environment, and be expected to be an active participant on the general laboratory housekeeping rota’s.
