Responsibilities

  • Review and assess environmental monitoring data relating to operational, closed and legacy landfill sites to ensure environmental protection and legal compliance.
  • Provide support and management to the environmental monitoring team.
  • Ability to understand and explain trends in monitoring data to both internal and external interested parties.
  • Provide technical support to operational and development teams regarding environmental monitoring.
  • Manage environmental permits relating to closed landfill activities, ensuring timely submission of required reports and permit applications where necessary.
  • Ability to review current and historic data to determine appropriateness of applying for permit closure and surrender.
  • Contribute to the environmental monitoring contracts management, relating to field operations and laboratory analysis, to ensure timely collection of data in line with monitoring plans and permits.
  • Provide support to the management of the environmental monitoring database.
  • Support with the installation and maintenance of monitoring boreholes as required by permits and new site development.
