  • A strong portfolio of shipping software products
  • Knowledge of a significant portion of Tableau’s product line and business strategy
  • Fluency in best practices for information architecture and design
  • Strong knowledge of usability and design principles and techniques
  • Proficiency in a variety of design tools like Figma, Sketch, Illustrator, Axure, etc
  • Excellent real-time collaboration across multiple geographies as demonstrated through discussion, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent asynchronous collaboration as demonstrated through design documentation like click-throughs, wireframes, and specifications
  • Excellent design mentorship and critique skills
  • Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
  • 5 or more years’ experience doing software user experience design, including a leadership role in the design of a system of software or sites
  • Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
  • Bonus:
  • Experience with Tableau, PowerBi, Microstrategy or any domain expertise in data preparation and visual analytics
  • Experience with CRM or enterprise software

Responsibilities

  • Develop UI mock-ups, storyboards, flow diagrams, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and interactive prototypes
  • Creating prototypes or click-throughs that captures key flow through interactive user experiences
  • Collaborate with executives, managers, and peers to refine designs
  • Research, develop, and persuade business/design cases for product features and user experiences
  • Partner with other feature team members and Dev leadership in the design process
  • Participate in design critique and iteration of team members within development
  • Coordinating work of multiple designers across a broad slice of the product
  • Mentor and develop user experience designers throughout the Design organization
  • Create and carry out 2-3 year design vision work for a significant area of the product
  • Ensure the product vision supports customers and their business goals
