Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the Special Operation team to ensure the timely and accurate processing of data, pick/ship confirmation of pick ticket/packing slips, auditing to assure order accuracy, directing the product flow through various departments, reducing shipping errors, 3rd party receipts requiring etch/label/packaging and special orders requiring additional task to complete (IE: etch/engrave/assemble). Responsible for directing personnel to the proper work areas to ensure that the demands of the department are met and monitoring of spare parts stockroom. Perform new hire and/or Temporary personnel training.
  • Promote/ensure a safe working environment for employees
  • Monitor activities in Special Operation and temporary personnel in the areas of shipping, auditing, and packing
  • Prioritize daily work and allocate resources to ship daily orders accurately, on time and at the lowest cost possible
  • Participate/Lead weekly LPO (Large Pending Orders) with Sales, Supply Chain, Transportation, Customer Service and Operation ensuring timely delivery of shipments, along with completing special order requests
  • Coordinate the timely processing of OEM/LPO projects, International shipments, returns to vendor, removal of expiring products and scrap material, convenience kitting requests, and specific customization as needed for outbound processing
  • Develop team members through coaching and monitoring, along with training Direct/Temporary new hires
  • Generate Work Instructions (WI) based on packaging/labeling/Etching requirements per material number and additional areas of responsibility specific to the department
  • Monitor inbound (3rd party) processes requiring materials to be packaged/label/etching to ensure alignment of department metrics
  • Assist in validation of equipment used in department
  • Assist with the maintenance and accuracy of spare parts / equipment inventory used for the repair of medical devices
  • Assist with monitoring stockroom inventory levels to ensure proper utilization of available capacity
  • Monitor team for accurate application of marking instruments used in a surgical environment (laser marking, chemical etch, packaging and labeling)
  • Monitor Preventive Maintenance program of equipment ensuring daily/weekly compliance
  • Prepare and analyze department reports on a daily/monthly basis (IE: Open Orders)
  • Ensure material handling equipment and storage racks are in safe working order
  • Prepare and maintain daily/monthly metric activity reports
  • Collaborate with customer service, supply chain, Set World, Quality, ATS repairs and facilities
  • Assist Supervisor in maintaining operation within approved budget, along with submitting Capital request
  • Assist supervisor with providing input on disciplinary steps, when applicable
  • Assist supervisor with providing input on employees annual performance evaluations
  • Complies with GMP(Good Manufacturing Practice) procedures to ensure that all obsolete, rejected, or deteriorated manufacturing materials located in storage are not inadvertently distributed
  • Assist supervisor in creating/supporting development plan for personnel
  • Follow SOP procedures to ensure mix-ups, damages, and deterioration does not occur to materials during any stages of handling
  • Oversees operation in supervisor absence
  • Provides back-up support for all areas of the operation
  • Assist in Lean/Continuous Improvement/5S projects by tracking data and providing input
  • Must comply with applicable ISO and FDA regulations as stated in Quality Manual
