What is the primary responsibility of a Legal Administrative Specialist in this role?
The primary responsibility is to provide administrative support for incoming Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FOI/PA) requests and declassification reviews, helping to maintain transparency in government.
Is training provided for this position?
Yes, all Legal Administrative Specialists attend an on-site, paid, six-week training course to equip them with the necessary skills to be successful in this role.
What are the basic qualifications required for this position?
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Government Clearance and must be U.S. citizens to qualify.
What educational background is necessary for applying to this role?
A Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of related experience is required. Experience can substitute for education, and separating or former military personnel with related experience are encouraged to apply.
What computer skills are required for this job?
Proficiency in MS Office Suite is required, along with the ability to learn new systems and applications, create graphs and charts, and draft technical and administrative documents.
What is the typing requirement for this position?
Candidates must have the ability to type at least 60 words per minute.
What are the physical demands associated with this job?
Employees may occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 15 lbs, among other physical activities.
What kind of work environment can be expected?
The work environment is generally sedentary and is performed in an open office space with a large personal desk area.
Are there any specific experiences that are preferred for this role?
