Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 2+ years of experience with analyzing and problem - solving issues in a customer service setting
  • 2+ years of experience with providing customer service to policyholders, employers, internal and external customers
  • 2+ years of previous or current experience with processing Life/Death claims
  • Proficiency with computer and Windows personal computer applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Ability to work our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time zone)
  • OnBase claims processing system experience
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Responsibilities

  • Review and render determinations on Life claims
  • Initiate and maintain appropriate level of communication within ERISA standards through the claim review and investigation process
  • Respond to all inquiries generated relative to Life claims within established service timeframe
  • Provide accurate claim decisions in accordance with Policy, State and Federal guidelines
  • Adjudicate Life claims with current average volumes of 50 claims weekly
