Responsibilities

  • Performs sample processing of mycobacteria samples.
  • Assists TB lead microbiologists with daily operations of mycobacteria laboratory by taking temperatures, ensuring supplies are stocked, maintaining instrumentation, etc.
  • Ensures all mycobacteria testing are performed in accordance with proper quality control and quality assurance measures. Performs testing in accordance with CAP regulations.
  • Monitors testing turnaround times.
  • Assists with data entry and compilation.
  • Be able to interpret and apply city, state, and federal guidelines to ensure adherence.
  • Protects, maintains, and ensures client confidentiality according to HIPPA regulations.
  • Use approved systems to maintain timely and accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Perform other related duties, including participation in special projects, such as compiling data for grant deliverables.
  • This position is considered an essential position to HHD, and the selected candidate will be required to work some weekends (rotational) and possibly during emergencies.
