Responsibilities

  • The appointed Skull base fellow will work with 4 skull base surgeons in the department and will achieve good experience in anterior as well as lateral skull base Extended endoscopic procedures and pituitary pathologies.
  • This post will be an excellent opportunity for post CCT/recently qualified neurosurgeon to gather and improve skill sets required before starting career as skull base surgeon.
  • The post holder will be part of a team which include run through trainees as well as other trust grade doctors.
  • You will work closely with consultants, other junior doctors and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • The post holder will be part of a senior tier on-call rota at QMC covering junior trainee.
  • There are ample opportunities for work based assessments from the supervising consultants.
  • You will also be allocated a Clinical Supervisor who will help identify career progression opportunities.
  • The post holder will contribute/supervise to the on-call rota and should therefore have previous neurosurgery registrar experience (or equivalent), have full MRCS and have experience working within the NHS.
