Responsibilities

  • As a Non-Executive Director (NED) your role will be to work alongside other NEDs, the Chair of the Trust and the Executive Directors as equal members of the unitary Board; using your skills, knowledge and expertise to direct the work of York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
  • The role will also be responsible for Chairing the Group Audit Committee of the Trust.
  • You will have an important part to play in forging strong links with the Council of Governors.
  • The Council is responsible for holding the NEDs to account, both individually and collectively, for the performance of the Board.
  • You will also be a qualified accountant to Chair the Group Audit Committee.
  • You will have expertise in managing change in complex situations, an ability to bring partners together to achieve common goals, and a clear and demonstrable commitment to living and leading to our Trust values: Kindness | Openness | Excellence.
  • Additionally, you will contribute to the effective leadership of the Trust, helping us to navigate through challenges and capitalise on opportunities.
