Responsibilities

  • Lead the M&E design process from concept through to construction.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure M&E design compliance with project requirements.
  • Manage M&E design schedules and ensure timely delivery of design packages.
  • Conduct M&E design reviews and provide technical guidance to the project team.
  • Ensure all M&E designs adhere to relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to align M&E design objectives with project goals.
  • Oversee the preparation of M&E design documentation and reports.
  • Facilitate communication between M&E design teams and construction teams.
  • Scope and agree on M&E consultant appointments.
  • Manage overall M&E preconstruction programming, including design, pricing, and contract close.
  • Develop M&E design to meet cost and programme requirements.
  • Identify and manage M&E risks and opportunities.
  • Complete the M&E Contractors’ proposals.
  • Ensure quality control and adherence to processes for M&E designs.
  • Input into overall construction and commissioning programme for M&E aspects.
  • Plan and estimate costs for M&E components.
  • Review and critique M&E Tender Documentation.
  • Manage M&E document control.
  • Brief and engage Specialist M&E Consultants/suppliers for planning reports.
  • Provide progress reports on M&E design internally and externally.
  • Attend and assist in briefing the Construction Project Team at the design Handover Meeting.
  • Support M&E Design Managers during detailed design, assisting with early design production, pre-start planning condition discharge, drainage, highway, and other statutory approvals as required.
  • Obtain, review, and critique M&E quotations from Sub-Contractors during pricing.
  • Assist Estimator / Commercial Manager in preparation of the financial bid submission for M&E components.
  • Advise on BREEAM / Code / Renewable + general research issues with consultation with the team.
  • Provide lessons learned on completion of each preconstruction stage for M&E aspects.
