Responsibilities

  • Provide technical geochemist expertise and guidance, oversight and assurance to product groups and their business units, project and study shaping
  • Act as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) and cover the volume and complexity of reactive mineral waste and closure related geochemical challenges.
  • Engage and influence exploration, growth and closure studies to utilise Geochemistry tools to understand how wastes will behave over the long term and how to mitigate any potential environmental impact
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, provide technical input on mine management and closure related issues
  • Planning and implementation of rehabilitation and closure regarding landform design and geochemistry
  • Geochemical characterisation of mine wastes
  • Development of mineral waste management strategies for growth studies, operation and for closure
  • Water chemistry assessment and prediction
  • Unsaturated flow characterisation and prediction
