Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate leadership, decision making and organisation skills necessary to efficiently meet performance requirements in a changing work environment.
  • Liaise with Management, Level 8, Level 7, Ramp IBC, Service desk, Passenger Services Supervisors and airline representatives as required.
  • Manage and report OH&S concerns and maintain a safe working environment in designated area.
  • Apply understanding of security procedures, quarantine, hygiene, dangerous and perishable goods requirements.
  • Adherence to Menzies Aviation Ground Operating Manual.
  • Respond to customer / supplier problems which arise within the employees own section.
  • Provide advice and information on the organisations products and services.
  • Work across both Domestic and International.
  • Liaise with ULD compounds for ULD pick up.
  • Work without direct supervision.
  • Drive and /or operate main/lower deck loaders in accordance with safe operating procedures.
  • Perform duties required to move aircraft in accordance with established procedures which require the employee to hold a CAT 3 license and the required radio operator's certificate of proficiency.
  • Demonstrate leadership and experience in all aspects of ramp duties.
  • Marshalling aircraft and operating aircraft headsets.
  • Operate all in hold aircraft systems and all ground handling and commercial type airport equipment including all equipment associated with ramp/passenger aircraft serving, toilet servicing and general transport operations excluding push back equipment.
  • Knowing arrival and departure times.
  • IATA 3 letter port code and 2 digit airline abbreviations.
  • Check serviceability of ULD before loading.
  • Check graveyard and report any problems and fix any problems that arise.
  • Carry out various administrations and reporting, including the communication and computer aids, undertake projects as required.
  • Ensure all flights are open within allocated time in the first bag system and that baggage containers are registered and are ready for loading before flights opens.
  • Filling out flight reports for each flight.
  • Work down as required.
