Responsibilities

  • Provide tactical guidance and input regarding HR strategies.
  • Act as key interface between Corporate HR and the stores.
  • Visit stores and build trusting consultative relationships with associates and store management.
  • Stay up to date on all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations governing employment (EEO, wage and hour, employee benefit, leave, etc.)
  • Serve as a resource to field team members for answering general benefit questions and provide advice on unemployment hearings and workers' compensation hearing.
  • Handle various employee relations issues, conduct investigations, train and develop staff and maintain important documentation for recordkeeping and compliance purposes in an organized manner.
  • Partner with internal and/or external legal counsel to prepare for and/or respond to lawsuits or complaints filed by outside agencies; Attend mediations, arbitrations and other court proceedings as needed.
  • Support the region in establishing and executing an effective recruiting strategy (short and long term) and work with the region to source, recruit, interview, and hire qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and attend job fairs for new store openings.
  • Train store, district, and regional management in all areas of human capital management including: policy and procedure, leadership skills and development, sexual harassment, talent acquisition, performance management, terminations, and benefits.
  • Coordinate and implement performance management program, provide coaching in the moment and be able to give and receive critical feedback for growth of associates and self.
  • Track and maintain HR metrics and reporting.
