Responsibilities

  • There is a new opportunity in the Nottingham School of Art and Design to work as a Research Fellow with Professor Katherine Townsend on a Circular Clothing Design project.
  • The role encompasses general project management duties, including communicating with, documenting collaborations with partners and stakeholders in the PPE, healthcare and clothing design industries.
  • Assisting with follow-on funding applications and identifying new partners to explore and extend the sustainable benefits of the gown system will also be part of the role.
  • In addition to undertaking desk-based research and administrative support, there are creative opportunities for facilitating repurposing workshops and pilot studies with fashion and textile SMEs to scope potential repurposing strategies.
  • Professor Townsend is a member of the Sustainable Transitions group, within the Fashion and Textile Research Centre.
  • The group investigates diverse pathways toward sustainable fashion and textile systems, from industry-facing initiatives to practice-based design research and speculative explorations.
