Responsibilities

  • The purpose of this post is to provide specialist advice on Emergency Planning, Business Continuity and emerging issues to improve preparedness, communication and co-ordination across NHS Lothian and to comply with national guidance and legislation.
  • The post holder will advise on policy; provide support in response to emergency incidents and develop and deliver training and exercising to enhance knowledge, procedures, and operational capability, in consultation with internal and external partners.
  • In line with the above, the post holder will be part of a team who are responsible for ensuring NHS Lothian can discharge its responsibilities as a Category 1 responder as set out in the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and associated supporting Guidance for Scotland.
