Responsibilities

  • Assist members of the assigned survey crew with various job duties such as:
  • Clearing brush
  • Carry rod from point to point for staking
  • Set up back site with tripod and prism
  • Load/unload survey equipment and supplies in trucks for daily job duties
  • Maintains survey supplies (nails, paint, rods, flags, etc.) for crew.
  • Performs survey tasks as per the direction of the Party Chief and Instrument Operator including:
  • Gather supplies, dig for corners, cut line, etc.
  • Clearing obstacles for line of sight; searching for and correctly identifying monuments
  • Plumbing prisms for accurate measurements
  • Measure by chain, tape, or other methods
  • Clean equipment
  • All other related tasks associated with field surveying
