Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization in understanding and adopting Agile Principles and the Scrum Framework. Help business and technology teams identify areas of improvement in the Agile framework adopted by Fidelity Canada
  • Periodic advisory and coaching of the organization on Agile and Scrum Methodologies
  • Continuous improvement reviews of the organization’s effectiveness at adopting Agile and Scrum
  • Ongoing support and the removal of barriers between stakeholders and Scrum Teams
  • Partner with the Product Owner for the Scrum Team to ensure the Scrum Team has enough information to turn a product backlog item into a potentially releasable / implementable item.
  • Assist the Product Owner in building an effective “Product” (i.e. business system / application) goal definition
  • Clear and concise Product goal definition and backlog items that the Scrum Team can easily understand and act upon.
  • Address impediments related to unclear backlog items or changing scope.
  • Facilitate stakeholder collaboration across business and technology teams.
  • Establish or form Scrum teams as necessitated by initiatives / projects related to existing or new Products and in collaboration with the Product Owner
  • Documented Scrum Team roles and responsibilities
  • Identified skillsets required to deliver on the Product Goal through properly resourced Scrum Teams
  • Lead the Scrum Team to deliver on Product backlog items within a defined timebox, accounting for the Scrum Team’s effectiveness by enabling the team to improve its practices, within the Scrum framework.
  • Periodic reporting of Scrum Team performance through well-defined Key Performance Indicators (e.g. burn-down / burn-up charts, velocity, etc.), value generation, and taking into consideration feedback from the Scrum Team, Product Owner, and key stakeholders. Other duties as assigned
  • Timely completion of other assigned tasks
