Responsibilities

  • COURSE SCHEDULING
  • Manages all phases of course scheduling in consultation with the Associate Dean and Program Directors.
  • Edits course schedule using Class Manager and Course Schedule Update systems.
  • Ensures that the School of Architecture (SOA) follows best practices regarding timely submission of course scheduling requests and updates during each cycle.
  • Schedules and reserves classrooms, activates waitlists, manages course descriptions, tracks flag designations, and confirms seat counts and prerequisites.
  • Submits requests for small classes, non-standard class times, and cross-listed courses.
  • COURSE MANAGEMENT
  • Monitors course enrollment statistics, student rosters, waitlists, and student interest in electives to utilize academic resources most efficiently.
  • Manages the Course Instructor Survey functions for the SOA and maintains historical records.
  • Confirms organized course meeting information and class groupings with faculty through FASET and performs final audits.
  • Schedules final exams, in accordance with university policy.
  • ACCREDITATIONS AND ASSESSMENTS
  • Coordinates and manages all SOA accreditations, assessment tasks, and provide statistical data for curricular management.
  • Manually aggregates trends and enrollment reports.
  • Maintains records for accreditation and external reviews, manages site visit arrangements, and oversees outreach and communication for visits.
  • Works proactively with the Graduate School and SOA Graduate Office to ensure that external graduate program reviews are appropriately conducted, from start to finish.
  • Develops and maintains tracking systems to provide statistical and reporting needs of the University (SACS) and each program’s accrediting body (NAAB, PAB, LAAB, CIDA).
  • Prepares and analyzes statistical data and presents results and recommendations to the dean and other SOA and university administrators.
  • COURSE INVENTORY
  • Updates all facets of SOA undergraduate and graduate Course Inventory following established policies and deadlines.
  • Ensures that the SOA follows best practices regarding Course Inventory updates.
  • Collaborates with university partners, SOA Student Affairs, and SOA administrators in support of maximizing the functional utilization of course-related processes and procedures.
  • MARGINAL/INCIDENTAL FUNCTIONS
  • Backs up the Academic Program Coordinator and supports events under the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs portfolio.
  • Creates, maintains, and promotes technologically advanced office protocols utilizing a high degree of innovation.
  • Contributes to a positive and collegial work environment.
  • Attends school committee meetings as requested.
  • Additional hours may be required at peak periods.
  • Other related functions as assigned.
