The primary focus of the Senior Associate role is on patent and trade secret disputes, including UK litigation and ADR, along with related advisory work such as FTO analysis, patentability, and trade secrets advice.
How many years of experience are ideal for applicants applying for this position?
Candidates who have between 4 and 8 years PQE (Post-Qualification Experience) are likely to have the right level of knowledge and experience needed for this role, although there are no strict upper or lower limits on PQE for applicants.
Will the Senior Associate be involved in managing junior team members?
Yes, as a Senior Associate, you will be expected to take an active role in the management and development of client relationships and supervise and train more junior team members.
What type of work will I be doing related to patent and trade secrets?
You will be involved in non-contentious advisory work such as IP audits, drafting and negotiating assignments, licenses, R&D agreements, and supporting corporate transactions through due diligence and IP aspects of contracts.
What sectors will the ideal candidate have experience in?
The ideal candidate will have strong Technology sector and/or Life Sciences sector experience. Experience in the Industrials, Energy & Natural Resources, and CGFR sectors is considered ideal but not essential.
