  • 10 – 15 years of experience with underground and heavy civil construction.
  • Experience in project and/or program management of underground and heavy civil projects.
  • Experience in procurement of construction works (owners-side or contractors-side).
  • Experience addressing commercial aspects of construction.
  • Proven track record in underground construction.

Responsibilities

  • In this senior project manager role, you would be undertaking a wide variety of projects, including tunnels, microtunnels, horizontal directional drilling, braced excavations and other underground structures/projects. It is expected that the role will grow into a position that can develop a team to apply program management to many civil engineering projects, with the support of other technical experts. As a senior project manager your duties will include:
  • Engaging in project and program management roles on a wide variety of heavy civil and underground projects;
  • Developing procurement documentation and supporting clients’ procurement processes for construction contracts;
  • Reviewing commercial matters on construction projects, such as change requests, claims, differing site conditions;
  • Reviewing or developing construction cost estimates and schedules;
  • Identification of risks and contribution to risk workshops and risk registers;
  • Review of design solutions, reports, specifications and drawings covering a range of projects (such as deep excavations for transit stations, TBM tunnels, SEM tunnels, ground treatment)
  • Developing engineering concepts, and articulation of the concepts to the team;
  • Writing reports for submission to clients as well as assisting with preparation of proposals to clients;
  • Leading and managing junior/graduate engineers supporting their development;
  • Liaising with various clients, attending progress meetings and producing reports on progress; and
  • Providing expert engineering input into design; and evaluation of built environment proposals.
