Responsibilities

  • Delivering changes by following Agile practices into the Global Pricing Tool application, ensuring the standards are adhered to and exceeded and that all project requirements are met.
  • Supporting and managing junior development team members to ensure the continual growth of the team and identification and implementation of development process improvements and innovations.
  • Interacting with various teams during requirement definition like Business, Product, Operations, Finance, risk and compliance to understand the requirement.
  • Interacting with the application vendor to define and clarify the requirements that are captured.
  • Interacting with various dependent application teams in the landscape.
  • Bringing in clarity to the interactions between other systems and the Pricing application.
  • Leading and being accountable for all solutioning/end to end design activities for projects across the end-to-end software development lifecycle within pricing.
  • Analyzing project scoping statement, project requirements to help define a complete end to end solution, utilizing capabilities available across wholesale Lending or in the wider markets.
  • Maintaining ownership of the design throughout the software development life cycle, ensuring continued alignment to end-to-end designs, reviewing and approving component designs driven from the wider end to end design.
  • Identifying and developing innovative solutions that will enhance the client experience and provide a cost effective solution for Pricing.
  • Providing technical consultancy for new initiatives, to assist in the definition of business requirements or technical strategies.
  • Owning end to end technical and application architecture for allocated projects within the Pricing, identifying and engaging all technical component teams that need to contribute.
  • Presenting large project designs at the appropriate Design Authority and working with the lead architect to evolve the architectures and standards, ensuring their effectiveness alongside advancing business, security and technology landscapes.
  • Ensuring project designs are compliant to architectures and standards by producing required governance artefacts as dictated by governance board assigned to the project.
  • Designing and developing solutions as products that can evolve, meeting business requirements that align with modern software engineering practices and automated delivery tooling.
  • Targeted design activities that apply an appropriate workload placement strategy and maximise the benefit of cloud capabilities such as elasticity, serverless, containerisation etc.
  • Best practice designs incorporating security principles (such as defence in depth and reduction of blast radius) that meet the Bank’s resiliency expectations.
  • Solutions that appropriately balance risks and controls to deliver the agreed business and technology value.
  • Adoption of standardised solutions where they fit. If no standard solutions fit, feeding into their ongoing evolution where appropriate.
  • Fault finding and performance issues support to operational support teams, leveraging available tooling.
  • Solution design impact assessment in terms of risk, capacity and cost impact, including estimation of project change and ongoing run costs.
  • Development of the requisite architecture inputs required to comply with the banks governance processes, including design artefacts required for architecture, privacy, security and records management governance processes.
  • Advising key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Managing and mitigating risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrating leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
