Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide overall engagement support for Center programming initiatives/activities relating to diversity, equity & inclusion with special emphasis on supporting the LBGTQIA+ programming initiatives, MOSAIC Conference on Intersectionality, social advocacy, etc. This includes oversight of any budgetary and fiscal responsibilities associated with the program as well as any assessment needs.
  • Co-Design and implement a plan for the DEI social media pages for CSDI and supervise our current Social Media intern until the new Project-Program Coordinator is hired.
  • Maintain knowledge of current events and media trends.
  • Oversee continuous updates for on campus and Pittsburgh community events listing.
  • Represent the Center at various events/programs through tabling, panel conversations, advisory projects with Archives, etc.
  • Perform research, clerical tasks such as data collection, data entry, and analysis work for DEIB project initiatives while interacting directly with students, families, staff, faculty and alumni addressing their questions and concerns.
  • Assist with the advising of specific student organizations and DEIB student initiatives (as deemed necessary).
  • Attend all necessary cultural competency, inclusive practices, and diversity trainings.
  • Liaison between departments and outside organizations to support or troubleshoot any Center based projects or initiatives as directed by the Executive Director.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned to support the needs of the Center and the VP-DEI team.
