What qualifications do I need to apply for the Specialist Community Nurse position?
You need a degree or diploma in adult nursing, and NMC registration is essential. A Specialist Practitioner (District Nursing) qualification and V300 Non-Medical Prescribing qualification are desirable but not mandatory.

Will I be required to drive for this role?
Yes, the role requires you to drive yourself around the locality to visit patients in their own homes.
What level of experience is required for this position?
You should have previous community-based experience or band 6 experience that is transferrable to a community setting. Leadership or management experience is also highly valued.
What clinical skills will I need for this role?
You will need skills in areas such as intravenous antibiotic administration, end of life care, wound care, venepuncture, and advanced physical assessment, among others.
What types of teams will I be working with?
You will work within an integrated hub model alongside other District Nurses, Specialist Nurses, Community Staff Nurses, Therapists, Nursing Associates, and Health Care Assistants.
Will I receive training and support when I start?
Yes, you will have a planned induction and support from Clinical and Team Leaders to develop your competencies according to a clear framework.
