Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate safe personal behavior and help others be safe by conducting safety observations, participating in safety meetings, and offering safety improvement ideas.
  • Support all hiring activities for assigned area(s) of responsibility including planning, prospecting/recruiting, and candidate assessment. Participate in posting, selection process, offer letter, onboarding, job fairs, new miner orientation and training.
  • Provide site employees will full range of HR Support. Manage compliance across the business working with peers and the Senior HR Manager, mine leadership and employees advising leaders on employment law, policy interpretation, disciplinary procedures, and other employment related matters. Attend start-ups to address employee questions/concerns.
  • Serve as the liaison between management and employees, while always reinforcing the Peabody values. Assist employees who are on disability, assist with complex pay issues, work with leadership on target numbers for forecast and help maintain target numbers.
  • Conduct annual open enrollment meetings and communicate Plan changes each year. Provide support to employees with benefit related questions. Establish working relationships with third party administrator and STL Benefits staff.
  • Provide administrative support to include record keeping, performance management, staffing changes, and filing as needed. Maintain required documentation.
  • Assist managers/team leads/supervisors with complaints/issues with employees; help determine corrective actions type and assist with corrective action sessions.
  • Participate in HR presentations, unemployment claims and hearings, SAWOL observations/interactions, SAWOL audits, Safe Start sessions and company-wide meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned including special projects, policy updates, technician criteria review, training initiatives, etc.
