Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient-centred nursing care on the renal ward, aiming to achieve the highest possible standards of care delivery, in accordance with the Trust’s Strategy for Nursing and Midwifery.
  • Working within the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure high quality standards of evidence based care are maintained and Renal Association / Renal National Service Framework guidelines are met.
  • In the absence of more senior nursing staff may be required to undertake specific ward management duties, as delegated by ward manager (e.g. taking charge of shifts).
  • Provide best clinical and professional practice.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Assist in the provision of a working environment which is conducive to learning for all staff and students.
