  • To coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence-led care to patients.
  • To effectively plan, manage and evaluate care of patients that are being managed on the unit including acute oncology patients, surgical and haematological patients.
  • To work on the hotline (triaging, advising and prioritising patient care).
  • To exercise clinical judgment and decision making about patient needs in terms of long term goals or plans.
  • To support junior staff on the unit.
  • To act as a role model to others on the unit.
  • To actively take part in conducting short teaching sessions on the unit.
  • To be engaged in quality improvement.
