Description

  • The Tax Accountant is an integral part of Latham’s Global Tax team. This role will be responsible for acting as a tax specialist for the firm in EMEA with regards to preparing income tax return schedules, tax compliance, tax procedures, and tax research projects. This person will be liaising with local and global Accounting and analysing accounting/financial information in support of the firm’s tax compliance requirements in the EMEA region. This role will be located in our London office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Requirements

  • Exhibit a good understanding of accounting concepts and knowledge of tax rules
  • Display strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to define problems/issues, gather information, and suggest appropriate solutions
  • Possess a desire to further your development and work in an environment that encourages learning and growth
  • And have:
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with and reconciling large data sets
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or a related discipline) and/or be working towards a professional Accounting qualification
  • Experience of working in Accounting within a law firm or wider professional services environment is desirable

  • Assisting with the process of preparing and providing information to external tax advisors/accountants with respect to the preparation of tax filings in the EMEA region
  • Reviewing applicable accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports and performing quality assurance procedures
  • Assisting with general tax administration such as tracking tax payments/notices and preparing reconciliations
  • Assisting in preparing cash flow estimates and income and tax estimates for the partners
  • Working with the Tax Supervisor, Manager, and Director of Tax to identify and complete projects on various issues when needed
