Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in social sciences, human resource management, business administration or related field

  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with management staff.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and apply internal Human Resources (Personnel) policies and rules, as well as the City of Seattle's Race and Social Justice Initiative (RSJI) policies, practices and principles; adapt and apply within HSD Divisions.
  • Liaise between subject matter experts, division management and human resources staff to lead the development of job postings, examinations, recruiting and onboarding of regular and contingent staff.
  • Coordinate and facilitate employee selection processes, including screening tools.
  • Act as liaison between HSD and SDHR to coordinate special projects and studies.
  • Maintain and update internal ATS and HRIS systems.
  • Investigate and resolve employee and applicant complaints and problems; advise employees, or elevate concerns as appropriate for the issue, incident or event.
  • Partners with other HR Team Members to ensure a seamless onboarding process for New Hires.
  • Interpret and implement new labor contracts and other personnel-related legislation.
  • Participate in short- and long-term planning of personnel needs, resource utilization, and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Perform related duties of a comparable level and type as assigned.
