Responsibilities

  • Handling complex technical referrals from staff on individual policies in classes of business such as Private Motor & Home Insurance.
  • Implementing and explaining reasons for decisions for general underwriting rules and procedures on all motor and property classes in ROI and NI, ensuring quality standards.
  • Maintenance and refinement of underwriting rulebooks for relevant classes.
  • Ensuring the delivery of excellent quality service to customers.
  • Supporting completion of Renewal Review process through DCC.
  • Responding quickly and effectively to technical queries and referrals from Brokers and SBU’s including Branch managers and Area Managers within agreed service level agreements.
  • Handling customer complaints effectively and liaising with the Claims Department for arbitration and court cases.
  • Evaluating competitors' risk acceptance and completing product benchmarking.
  • Supporting Pricing and Underwriting Management Team on Department and Cross-Functional projects.
  • Flexibility within the role to undertake other duties as assigned and participate in designated projects.
  • The operational application of underwriting and pricing terms in line with AXA Ireland's risk appetite.
