Responsibilities

  • Lead by example – promotes and sets standards which meet our values and guiding principles.
  • Gain a very good understanding of the Selfridges Store Design guidelines and keep on top of key guideline updates. Receiving Real Estate design proposals from Beauty brands/design agencies, being able to respond to the brand contacts on the creative, H&S and build considerations.
  • Receive feedback from stakeholders and present the proposal(s) at a weekly business Real Estate meeting
  • Work at pace liaising with the Selfridges Beauty buyers on the Real Estate calendar. Ensuring all store access for suppliers weekly / fortnightly, and being contactable out of hours for brand installations / exits.
  • Support the Design Manager for the corner shop and ad hoc marketing lead project launches
  • Support the Design Manager with Regional Christmas Shop project from design through to implementation and removal. Co managing the visual projects department Storage facility; inventory, administration, payments.
  • Seek to continually raise the benchmark and improve standards through ongoing development, coaching and performance management of themselves
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, e.g. absences, time and attendance and holidays, etc.
  • Works collaboratively and proactively with various teams
  • Have a good understanding of new production techniques and materials to ensure we are always pushing the boundaries and communicating this to the wider creative community
  • Supports the Visual Projects team on all expenditure, including, expenses, invoices, purchase orders. Maintaining all trackers for schemes and projects.
  • Working on the practical realisation of projects, delivering a material board for all schemes that is rolled out across all Creative departments for consistency.
  • Liaising with suppliers to resolve all elements of build & achieving a high level of finish on all projects
  • Working out of hours where necessary to ensure smooth delivery of installations
  • Consider both the internal and external customer in all activities.
  • Works with line manager to identify areas to be developed, propose ideas and costs to do so
  • Being well informed through research on all exciting and ground-breaking art installations and events that use ‘spectacle’ and immersive experience effectively.
  • Ensure Visual Projects prop room and tool kits are organised to raise efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manages and maintains the Property Design material library
  • Looks for and introduces ways to improve efficiency
  • Adheres to H & S standards, policies and procedures
  • Contributing to the upkeep of trackers for Visual Projects
  • Ensuring the Purchase Order & tracker system is adhered to for all orders
  • Manage invoice sign off & any discrepancies in ordering process
