Responsibilities

  • Supervises Warehouse Supervisors and/or Warehouse Technicians in performance of their duties ensuring the expected standards of job performance, discipline and safety are met.
  • Provides coaching to employees; participates in performance management discussions and in the selection process for staffing of future open positions.
  • Provide oversight in the execution of daily warehouse operations, including the handling of goods receipts, goods issues, picklists, cycle counting, stock put away, logistics, and quality control/assurance, utilizing the most appropriate materials handling and storage methods / equipment.
  • Establish warehouse strategies and organizational goals; develop/track key performance indicators (KPI); utilize root cause analysis to improve performance. Develop short- and long-term plans to increase the efficiency and optimization of warehousing functions and inventory: engage workforce in pursuing continuous improvement efforts: strive to achieve best in class status.
  • Supports warehouse staff in the delivery of the ongoing short term (daily, weekly) requirements to support the business and plan for longer term requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain Operations Materials Management group for material master creations/updates/deletions, daily Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), cycle counting, obsolete/surplus material management, repairs/refurbishments, and running reports.
  • Establishes and maintains effective methods of communication with all parties and create robust, sustainable relationships, including internal clients and suppliers. Be proactive and understand organizational needs and plan/align material management strategies to business partner goals.
  • Establishes processes to be utilized to ensure adequate control of materials transportation and other activities. This will include manual and computerized systems.
  • Maintains high HES standards. Leads and participates in activities supporting HES performance commitments.
  • Ensures compliance with all required Marathon policy, procedures and guidance and all industry and legislative requirements regarding logistics activities. This includes compliance by company personnel and contractors.
  • Provides guidance, support, training, and development to warehouse staff.
  • Coordinate with department manager in developing warehouse budget; maintain financial discipline to meet the budget.
