What is the duration of the job contract?
The position is a full-time, fixed-term contract until 31st March 2026.
What responsibilities will I have as a Waste Enforcement Officer?
You will be responsible for investigating fly-tipping, issuing Fixed Penalty Notices, collating evidence for prosecutions, issuing notices for non-compliance with environmental legislation, and checking commercial premises for compliance with waste management regulations.
Is a background in enforcement required for this role?
No, a background in enforcement is not required, but candidates should have the ability to understand and apply legislation and gather evidence for investigations.
How does the Neighbourhood Enforcement Team collaborate with others?
The Neighbourhood Enforcement Team works closely with other council teams, such as Housing and Clean Streets, as well as community partners including the police, businesses, citizens groups, and the council’s environmental enforcement contractor.
