 <p><b> Department Overview: </b>The Funding Agreements Department oversees all contracts that enable NYCEDC to distribute funds to non-City organizations for projects that provide the City with public benefits. Projects range from renovations to property acquisitions to multi-phased construction projects. Funding recipients include small community organizations (often for community and senior centers, social services organizations, healthcare facilities, and museums), internationally recognized cultural institutions, and private entities implementing key economic development projects. The intern will work on projects to centralize and consolidate various reporting requirements; to streamline processes with internal and external stakeholders; and to complete documentation of critical project milestones. In addition, the intern will also process payments, compile approval documents for the NYC Office of Management &amp; Budget and the NYC Comptroller and liaise between various departments within NYCEDC.</p>
 <p><b> Intern Responsibilities:</b></p>

  <li>Assist project manager directly and significantly with active projects</li>

  Internship Program Overview: Our 2025 Summer Internship Program is a paid 10-12-week internship program, scheduled to begin on June 2, 2025. Interns are expected to work full-time throughout the summer.

  Department Overview: The Funding Agreements Department oversees all contracts that enable NYCEDC to distribute funds to non-City organizations for projects that provide the City with public benefits. Projects range from renovations to property acquisitions to multi-phased construction projects. Funding recipients include small community organizations (often for community and senior centers, social services organizations, healthcare facilities, and museums), internationally recognized cultural institutions, and private entities implementing key economic development projects. The intern will work on projects to centralize and consolidate various reporting requirements; to streamline processes with internal and external stakeholders; and to complete documentation of critical project milestones. In addition, the intern will also process payments, compile approval documents for the NYC Office of Management & Budget and the NYC Comptroller and liaise between various departments within NYCEDC.
  Intern Responsibilities:
 
  Assist project manager directly and significantly with active projects
  Work with department staff to facilitate the implementation of contracts funding capital construction projects throughout NYC
  Assist project managers in researching, data collection, writing technical briefs, and designing classes/workshops
  Assist project managers in collecting, reviewing and processing project documents
  Assist in reviewing, approving, and tracking a large volume of reimbursements requests from client organizations
  Coordinate between external agencies, internal departments, and funding recipients the collection and maintenance of compliance documentation
  Work with project managers to develop and implement process solutions to improve operational efficiency
  Assist with coordinating and hosting departmental programming events
  Monitor and track internal inquiries by other department, City agencies, and client organizations
  Perform general department office duties

The department ensures company-wide adherence to the records retention schedule and policy and assists staff with records-related requests and education. The Records Management team manages both paper and electronic records by providing detailed records inventory for accurate search and retrieval in our records management database. Interns will learn how to identify EDC records, how records inform the organization's functions and are valuable information assets, how to inventory and review records, and how to use and navigate our database and other records-related resources.</p>

  Internship Program Overview: Our 2025 Summer Internship Program is a paid 10-12-week internship program, scheduled to begin on June 2, 2025. Interns are expected to work full-time throughout the summer.
 Summer interns will join an intern class consisting of undergraduate and graduate students to work on exciting projects in one of EDC's many dynamic departments. Summer Interns will also participate in training programs, networking events, and other professional development opportunities over the course of the program.
  Our Summer 2025 Internship Program application deadline is Monday, December 2. All materials must be submitted by EOD that date – incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
  Department Overview: The Records Management department is a support department that systematically manages the organization's records throughout their life cycles. The department ensures company-wide adherence to the records retention schedule and policy and assists staff with records-related requests and education. The Records Management team manages both paper and electronic records by providing detailed records inventory for accurate search and retrieval in our records management database. Interns will learn how to identify EDC records, how records inform the organization's functions and are valuable information assets, how to inventory and review records, and how to use and navigate our database and other records-related resources.
  Intern Responsibilities:
 
  Inventory physical and electronic company records, such as contracts, architectural drawings, and deliverables, based on NYCEDC Records Management department standards and retention policy.
  Input new data and normalize existing records data from staff records submissions in records management database.
  Prepare and rehouse records for scanning/digitization.
  Perform quality control of data entry and data cleanup for physical and electronic records.
  Assist with records circulation processes including reconciling container contents.
  Assist with space management such as barcode scanning and re-organization of records containers and shelving.
  Conduct records research for corporation staff.
  Aid Records Management staff in creating and/or updating policies and procedures, including training materials and metadata standards.
  Create reports to document department metrics
  Participate in special projects as assigned.
 
 Qualifications & Requirements:
 
  Preferred field of study: Library Science, Library and Information Science
  Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply
  Demonstrated enthusiasm for the mission of NYCEDC
  Demonstrated written, verbal, and analytical skills
  Demonstrated experience in using database and presentation tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
  Ability to work in collaborative, cross-functional teams
  Ability to work full-time, Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM and complete the entirety of the 10-week program
 
 Salary Target: $19.00/hour (undergraduate-level students); $24.00/hour (graduate-level students)
