  <li>As a part of the Investment Management team, the summer intern will also gain exposure to other functional departments such as property management, development, construction, acquisitions, etc. The role also provides opportunities to develop strong business acumen, quantitative, and presentation skills. You will collaborate with and learn directly from the department’s senior leadership.</li>

  The <b>Investment Management Intern</b> will work collaboratively with the Investment Management department, focusing on improving the reporting capabilities and processes, assisting with market research and business plan development, enhancing overall operational efficiency of the department, and learning about the various functional areas within the Michaels Organization. They will identify communities in need of asset management support and help develop strategic plans to improve performance. They will perform analysis and interpretation of community operating results and performance versus their business plan including understanding demand generators and key performance indicators. Lastly, they will research and report on community market data.

You will post journal entries, record cash receipts, perform month-end reconciliations, and assist with the month-end close process, focusing on property-level operating revenues and expenses.
