Responsibilities

  • - Assess relevance of technical information presented and prioritise tasks appropriately.
  • - Identify and design fully compliant EHV cable system solutions to meet client requirements, by being familiar with all electro-technical aspects of cables, accessories, and installations.
  • - Prepare and supply appropriate design packs containing all relevant system information for bid submission - attention to detail is an essential element.
  • - Liaise with cable & accessory suppliers to obtain the most cost-effective supply price and to so advise the bid team.
  • - Liaise with suppliers and clients to ensure that the latest technical information is held and to acquire relevant knowledge of future developments, to adapt internal procedures ensure conformance with national and international standards.
  • - Where possible, to be aware of any relevant competitor system design advantages/disadvantages.
  • - Maintain information on the customer approval status and type registration status of all cables and accessories.
  • - Maintain an electro-technical and commercial dialogue with suppliers and customers.
  • - Provide technical support to Project Managers and other colleagues regarding approved methods of installation and specifications for non-cable components such as backfill, troughs and structural supports.
  • - Ensure that sufficient permits and training has been undertaken to allow him/her to fulfil site obligations and bring this to bear in the system design.
  • - Responsible for technical documentation management and change control.
  • - When necessary, will take the lead on specific projects, coordinating and supervising resources proactively.
