Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration and expansion of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs and strategies at the assigned hospital, fostering a culture of inclusion and equity.
  • Develop, lead, and manage BRGs/affinity groups, including oversight of budgets, project timelines, operational planning, and execution of charters and steering committees.
  • Identify and engage executive sponsors to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee and support BRG-led initiatives, including community programs and internal events.
  • Work with Patient Access to train employees on inclusive demographic data collection, including sexual orientation, sex assigned at birth, gender identity, and preferred names.
  • Collaborate with Patient Experience to enhance language access services for patients with limited English proficiency.
  • Analyze DEI metrics and research industry best practices to inform and refine DEI initiatives and strategies.
  • Conduct weekly unit rounding to foster collaboration with leaders, identify opportunities, and provide real-time responses to emerging needs.
  • Measure outcomes to ensure alignment with CODEI goals and continuous improvement.
  • Design, and implement training and education, including but not limited to cultural competency training, LGBTQ+ sensitivity training, in addition to DE&I training at New Employee Orientation.
  • Lead efforts to achieve and maintain the Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) and other designations.
  • Shape and sustain an inclusive, respectful workplace culture for employees and practitioners.
  • Promote the delivery of culturally and linguistically competent care to patients and their families.
  • Attend and host monthly team meetings at rotating hospital locations to cultivate, foster and promote innovation, best practices and comradery for team building and engagement.
