Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with region, state and city’s legal requirements and industry regulations and collaborating with global Talent team on needed actions
  • Partners with leadership and employees on the handling of employee relations and sensitive personnel matters
  • Encourages and assists managers with developing documentation to support employment discussions and decisions in accordance with firmwide policies and procedures
  • Handles complaints and inquiries in a fair and empathetic manner
  • Communicates regularly and effectively with management and employees to avoid and address conflicts and disputes, and may act as a mediator in facilitating resolution
  • Counsels leaders and employees on performance management plans for respective region in collaboration with global Talent team
  • Ensures completion of and/or delivers locally required trainings such as safety requirements
  • Supports regional office leadership by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions by synthesis of available data, professional knowledge and experience
  • Coaches employees through aspects of the employee lifecycle from onboarding to employee inquiries to termination
  • Partners in initial compensation reviews and fielding questions for respective region with HR Operations Manager
  • Monitors and proactively reacts to respective region’s HR metrics, trends, and performance for assigned projects, in consultation and collaboration with Talent leaders
  • Contributes to the implementation of changes in policies and regulations governing compliance
  • Collaborates with global Talent team to update policies, manuals and guidelines to keep up with business and regulatory changes in line with HKS values and to guide office leadership and employee actions
  • May collaborate on special projects with the global Talent team
  • May prepare necessary paperwork and documentation for formal procedures in respective region
  • Assists in answering general benefits questions and escalating benefits questions to the global Benefits team when needed
