 The Legal Assistant provides high level support to their manager and other any support staff within the practice group with a main focus being processing claims in an efficient and cost effective manner, whilst ensuring all other duties are completed promptly and efficiently.

 <li>Provide administrative support as directed to ensure effective and efficient administration, management and maintenance of files from opening to archiving.</li>
 <li>Effectively review monthly Bordereux Reports from Carpenters Solicitors to ensure each case that settles/closes has housekeeping carried out at S&amp;G side.</li>
 <li>Run, with the support of management, a small caseload of around c20 small claim cases.</li>
 <li>Screen telephone calls and take relevant messages or deal with enquiries where possible from clients, executives and others.</li>
 <li>Independently prepare precedent letters, simple letters, attendances, and internal memoranda as appropriate and provide effective support, guidance and delegation to colleagues.</li>
 <li>Court work: lodge documents and completion of court forms may be required.</li>
 <li>Conduct legal research where required</li>
 <li>Ensure financial aspects of matters including, billing and debtor management are managed, to support fee earners in the achievement of their personal fee budget.</li>
