Responsibilities

  • The position will complete tasks in support of the County Board as directed by County Board Office staff.
  • General duties may include: assisting with communications work, drafting and scheduling social media posts, assisting with outreach events and event planning, assisting with drafting press releases, designing reports/presentations/flyers/handouts, creating short videos as needed on given topics, and special projects as assigned.
  • Duties related to policy analysis and research may include: assisting staff in the research and development of innovative policy initiatives on a variety of topics. Activities may include: researching best practices, interviewing key stakeholders and local experts, developing white papers and presentations for county committees and the County Board.
  • Additional duties may include: maintaining databases of contacts (for events and mailings); assisting with planning and coordination of special events; writing and sending press releases to the media; developing outreach materials; drafting letters to the editor; assisting in coordinating press conferences; writing summaries of county committee and County Board actions; developing and carrying out research and analysis on innovative policy, fiscal and procedural responses to county issues, and the development of issue papers and policy options for County Board committees and subcommittees.
