Responsibilities

  • Review and oversight of EMEA tax reporting and compliance processes, support deferred and effective tax rate calculations
  • Communication and reporting of EMEA tax positions to in- and external parties including external auditors, tax authorities and regulators
  • Correspond, meet and negotiate with German and other relevant tax authorities to resolve tax audits
  • Act as key point of contact and subject matter expert in German corporate tax and VAT related matters including system implementation, merger, integrations and similar projects
  • Maintain robust tax risk and tax compliance management systems
  • Oversight of sourcing and outsourcing activities for internal and external parties
  • Propose and develop appropriate financial strategies / planning
  • Drive innovation and process efficiency improvements
  • Proactively monitor international tax legislative changes and assess impact on the business, propose plan of action to senior stakeholders
  • Representation of Morgan Stanley on relevant German industry groups / bodies
