Responsibilities

  • Providing expert, commercially focused advice on a wide range of strategically important data privacy legal and compliance matters, including data processing agreements, data protection impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments and transfer risk assessments.
  • Delivering work needed to meet requirements under the Privacy Oversight Control Framework.
  • Where relevant, ensure key privacy risks or compliance issues are highlighted to relevant senior stakeholders and actions plans are agreed.
  • Influence and build strong relationships with key senior stakeholders including General Managers, Business Information Security Officers and Heads of Marketing, IT, Customer Services and Risk and Compliance.
  • Evaluating potential personal data breaches and managing reporting obligations and subsequent investigations.
  • Providing support to the BGUK Legal teams on complex data protection legal issues such as contract negotiations and litigation.
  • Maintaining knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory requirements and monitoring to ensure organisational adaptation and compliance.
